Robert Paturel is a French boxer, born in 1952 in Rueil-Malmaison. He won the French Boxing championship six times in France, and became a European champion in 1984. He is also an expert in defensive techniques and combat. A former policeman in elite groups, he was the first one to use the baton (or tonfa) in France. He devised his own method which is still being taught to French policemen. He created the concept of "boxe de rue" (street boxing) in 2002. He has written '' L’esprit du combat'' and ''tonfa sécurité'' and he published his first novel ''Les panthères noires de Bièvre'' in 2010.
